If you are ever in DC, stopping by Whaley’s is a must do! I’ve got the perfect day planned for you: spend the morning at the monuments and museums then catch a Nats game and afterwards stop by for some oysters and champagne.  I would rarely draw life inspiration from Christie Brinkley but when you come across a quote this fitting you go with it. “Life is too short to not have oysters and champagne sometimes.” I personally love a good sparkling rose with my oysters but champagne is close second. This place is too cute and it is surrounded by a few other great restaurants I can’t wait to try. The waterfront is gorgeous with a touch of an industrial feel. There is a cute little fountain and wading pool that the kids can play in. And if you have a few hours to spare add your name to the extensive wait list at Whaley’s Rose Bar. A quaint little outdoor nook lined with pink and white striped umbrellas, filled with accents of palm plants and pillows. The white bistro tables are so inviting and you can even sip your rose on a comfy bench seating area. I tried their frozen drinks and of course a glass of rose and I was impressed with both. Inside the restaurant, you can catch a glimpse of their chefs shucking oysters at their raw bar. Small savory plates and an assortment of oysters from around the world fill the menu and cause quite the dilemma for deciding what to try. This little spot has been spotted all over Instagram. Hurry up and head over! It is definitely foodie and Instagram worthy.
